Our coaching team has all come through one of Chris' coaching or mentoring programmes and share the same philosophy. Together, they create a consistent and supportive approach to player development across all of our sesions.
CHRIS MANN
OWNER & HEAD COACH
Chris is a former Durham Cricket player and coach with 30 years of coaching experience. He currently plays for Swalwell Cricket Club in the NTSL. His background includes working within Durham Cricket Pathway, leading Durham Squads for a number of years and leading clubs across the North East of England and Melbourne, Australia for over 25 years. Chris is passionate about helping players develop confidence, self-belief and the skills to reach their individual potential.
DANIEL SNAITH
COACH
Daniel plays for MarsdenCricket Club first team and is the clubs Junior Co-ordinator. He has experience leading All Stars, Dynamos and age-group programmes, aswell as personal coaching at U13 and U15 level. Daniel has shadowed our programmes for the past 12 months and joins the team in 2026. Currently studying his Masters in Sports Science, Daniel combines his coaching experience with developing knowledge of athletic performance and player development.
MARK SYMINGTON
ASSISTANT HEAD COACH
Mark brings 10 years of coaching experience to the team and has been apart of the team since 2022. A Marsden Cricket Club first team all-rounder and Player' Player of the Year in 2026, Mark came through the clubs junior programmes during Chris' time as Head Coach. Mark leads Marsden's U9, U11 and U13 programmes and brings valuable experience as a school teacher and SEND specialist.
LIAM MARRIOTT
COACH
Liam was coached by Chris during his time as Head Coach at Eppleton Cricket Club in the NEPL and has progressed through the Durham, Cricket Pathway up to U17 level. He currently players and coaches for Philadelphia Cricket Club first team in the NEPL, bringing his own experience of pathway cricket and senior-level competition to his coaching.
LUCY HUGHES
GIRL'S & WOMEN'S LEAD COACH
Lucy is a former Durham Cricket fast bowler who began her cricket journey at Bill Quay before joining Marsden and progressing through Chris' programmes. Having developed through the pathway herself, Lucy brings valuable playing experience and an understanding of the challenges and demands of the game. She has since focused on her studies and career in paramedicine.
SAM RAINE
TRAINEE COACH
Sam has been mentored by Chris over the past 5 years as a player and now as a coach, bringing invaluable experience from his own cricket journey. He's represented Durham Cricket from U11 through to U17 and currently plays for Murton Cricket Club first team. Sam's playing background and ongoing development make him a valued member of the coaching team.

SAFEGUARDING
The welfare of our players is a priority. We are committed to providing a safe, supportive and inclusive environment for all players, with robust safeguarding procedures in place.
FIRST AID
Our coaches maintain appropriate first-aid training for their roles, helping us prioritise player welfare during coaching activities.
DBS CHECKS
All relevant coaches and staff hold a valid DBS certificate in line with ECB requirements and our safeguarding policy.
INSURANCE
Our coaching activities are covered by appropriate insurance, provided by Insure4Sport, giving peace of mind to players, parents and clubs.
We operate in line with the ECB's Safe Hands guidance and we are committed to maintaining the highest standards in coaching, safeguarding and player welfare.
